Requirements of the BFSG and BFSGV and their compliance
In accordance with Section 3 (1) of the Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSG), certain services offered or provided by an economic operator must be accessible. Services are accessible if they can be found, accessed and used by people with disabilities in the usual manner, without particular difficulty and, in principle, without third-party assistance. The specific requirements for accessibility of services are governed by the Regulation on Accessibility Requirements for Products and Services under the Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSGV). The BFSGV contains specific requirements, in particular in Sections 12 and 19. For example, the economic operator must provide information about how the service works in a specific manner. In addition, websites, including any associated online applications and services offered on mobile devices, must be designed in a consistent and appropriate manner to be perceptible, operable, understandable and robust.
In designing our website, we comply with the EU standard EN 301 549 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 from 2023 with regard to accessibility. The WCAG distinguishes accessibility requirements in three levels (A, AA, AAA). Schiesser GmbH is committed to meeting these requirements, inter alia, through adequate colour contrasts, navigation and the use of alternative texts.
